Draw random squiggles and lines until you start to see shapes form, embracing the lack of focus until it is necessary. Focus should be on form near the beginning of the drawing, not on detail. Don't get too hung up on making things perfect. The refining process is much easier when done in batches. Switching from your drawing mode to your editing mode often can slow down the drawing considerably. So make few adjustments at first, and once you've reached a point that warrants editing, switch your focus to that aspect.
