Hayao Miyazaki

Hayao Miyazaki inspires me not because of his anime artstyle, but because of the beauty he brings to life. And I mean right into life. His movies are as simple as they are intricate, and every inch of these stories is brought to life in full, colourful glory, that each time I get to view these spectacles, I have this overwelming feeling of "I want to be there. I want to experiance this." Even a trashy, old tin-can holds a special uniqueness, a prettiness you've never seen before in the rubbish tossed alongside a road, because a frog will live there now. In fact, what I love best is the colouring jobs done in these movies, so rich, so wonderous, like a breath of fresh air. [keywords:Competition 2010/1]
